2006 was a promising but dissapointing year for me. I started it out rejecting a job offer with KJEL radio in Lebanon, MO, an offer I knew a couple weeks after turning down I should have taken. Perfect 20/20 hindsight I guess.
I interviewed for a few other radio jobs and always ended up in the top 2 or 3 people in the groups of applications so I must be doing something right for program directors to want to talk to me.
People have always complimented me on my voice and I've always enjoyed the radio. I did 5 years at my college radio station so I have some experience under my belt running a show by myself.
I was made a manager at my work and now run the projectors so I'm in charge of around 250,000 dollars worth of equipment which is kind of intimidating if you think about it. I almost cut into my leg with a film platter but my pen in my pocket stopped it after it cut a clean line through my pant leg.
All-in-all, not much happened to me that was very interesting this year.
I went back to Paris, France in Sept. 2006 for a week for a vacation and did some traveing to Chicago and up to Northern Minnesota for camping but not much else.
Hopefully I'll be able to finally find a radio station that will take me on as an announcer and I can start my professional career as a broadcaster. Radio broadcasting is the one thing I enjoy as much as traveling which says a lot of what I feel for it.
Happy New Years 2007 to everyone.
Let it be a good one.
